Add Ubuntu Repositories To Kali
Now, start katoolin and add Kali Linux repositories. Ubuntu@ubuntu:$ sudo katoolin. The above option will automatically add Kali's repositories to.
Are you sure this is a good idea? It is true that Ubuntu is based on Debian, but not everything in the Ubuntu package repositories can work flawlessly in Debian (on which Kali is based). In general there are differences between the two, and you can end up paralyzing your system, and compromising it in so may places that it may turn out to be simpler to re-install it than to salvage it.Since Linux is FOSS, a much better solution would be to locate the package source, and to recompile it for your pc. The chances that it works are much higher than trying to install pre-compiled binaries. If you really insist, against advice and common sense, you just need to add a line like deb saucy main restrictedto the file /etc/apt/sources.list.
This line is for saucy Ubuntu, careful that the correspondence between Debian and Ubuntu, kernel-wise or otherwise, is not one to one.

I have kali linux, which i run on live usb persistence in my laptop. I recently update the sources.list file from http to repo. And now when i try to do apt-get uldate, i see that'403 Forbidden See apt-secure(8) manage for repository creation and user configuration details.' I did so bcoz i wanted to solve the speed issue in kali linux. Plz help me!!You first need to read the LQ Rules about text speak and NOT USING IT, and you need to read the 'Question Guidelines' link in my posting signature. Also see the Kali Linux sticky post at the top of this forum:You SHOULD NOT be using Kali for anything but network security/pentesting. Their own website tells you this.
It is only for advanced users, and you are posting in the 'Newbie' forum. Also, you say nothing about your hardware, what the (supposed) 'speed issue' you're having is, or what you're trying to install. And the error message you posted gives you something to read.did you read it??? Quote:I am talking about the low internet speed that i get in the terminal. So, to increase the speed, i changed the first line of the 'sources.list' text file in /etc/apt/ from 'deb to 'deb Nothing else did I change.Yes, we understand what you're talking about; re-read my first reply.AGAIN: YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING KALI.has zero to do with where you posted your question, but Kali is NOT FOR NEW USERS, and again, it says this on their website, along with 'don't use this for anything but network/security testing'. While it is BASED on Debian, what you're trying to do won't work, and it certainly won't fix your slow internet speed.
You are getting slow speeds, because (AGAIN) Kali is doing things for network testing.AGAIN: Load another distro; do not use Kali. Wherever you want. Fire tv 32 bit or 64 bit. But you seem to not understand what you were told in my first reply.Yes, we understand what you're talking about; re-read my first reply.AGAIN: YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING KALI.has zero to do with where you posted your question, but Kali is NOT FOR NEW USERS, and again, it says this on their website, along with 'don't use this for anything but network/security testing'. I am very much interested in advanced networking and stuff as a subject to learn. Another thing is that I chanhed the sources.list from original website url to one of the official mirrors given by kali themselves and the internet speed went from 30 kb/s to 270kb/s which is what my internet gices at it's full potential.
It's not that i am a complete newbie to kali because I have gone through many problems in kali linux and have solved them. One last question that I have is that in which forums should i upload questions related to kali linux. I once again thank you for your responses. I once again thank you for your responses.and. Got your point sir. Just read your post about kali linux. Addictive drums osx download electric.
I will from now onwards will upload my questions to forums of kali. So is it that i am not supposed to post any questions related kali here or like some specific types of questions are allowed? If so, what are those types of questions? Thanks once again sir for answering a bit of a beginner like me. I appreciate it a lot! Thank you!AGAIN, you do not seem to be reading or understanding what is being said. You can feel free to post your questions here, and we are happy to help.
But you seem to also be contradicting yourself. You say 'I'm not a complete newbie, I have gone through many problems in kali', to 'bit of a beginner'.which is it???AGAIN, as you've now been told three times, you can post your kali questions here, but you.SHOULD NOT BE USING KALI ON A DAILY BASIS, PERIOD.
It is.NOT. for daily use, ever, and again it even says so on their website. If you post this on the kali forums, they will tell you the EXACT SAME THING.USE A DIFFERENT DISTRO TO LEARN WITH.

You say 'I'm not a complete newbie, I have gone through many problems in kali', to 'bit of a beginner'.which is it???On a scale of 1 to 10 of knowing about kali, I believe I on number 5.I see the rep meter at the top left of a post, but i am unable to find the ADD TO REP button you are talking about.
Is it because i am using this website on a mobile phone?Thnx for the answers. Quote:. All member-created content should be in English.
